Bangladesh has one of the clearer verification systems in this guide — a genuine online licence checker. The gap is the German embassy’s own public complaint: too many falsified documents slowing everyone down.
BMET (Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training) issues the Recruiting Licence (RL). Check any agency by RL number or name at oep.gov.bd/agencies — it shows the address, phone, licence status, and expiry date. The status must read “Active” with a current validity date; a matching RL number alone isn’t proof if the listing has lapsed. BAIRA, the recruiters’ association, maintains a secondary list of roughly 2,400 member agencies as a useful cross-check.
Germany’s own ambassador to Bangladesh has publicly complained about a high volume of falsified and incorrect documents slowing down visa verification — a document-fraud issue distinct from agency scams, but one that affects every genuine applicant by making the whole process slower and more heavily scrutinised. Keep your documentation unambiguously clean and originals-backed; this is the one country where that specifically matters to the processing speed of every applicant, not just the ones who get defrauded.
