This training covers private industry, services, and public-sector administration under one qualification — what you actually spend your days doing depends on two electives chosen the day you sign your contract.
| Duration | 3 years |
| Pay (public-sector example) | ~€1,218–1,329/month, TVAöD scale |
| Shortage occupation | Not confirmed nationally |
| Entry requirement | No legal minimum; Mittlerer Schulabschluss the de facto standard |
Every trainee covers 13 standardised Lernfelder regardless of employer, but then chooses two 5-month Wahlqualifikationen from ten options — delivered mostly on the job — which is where the training genuinely diverges. A public-sector (Verwaltung) placement looks meaningfully different day-to-day from a commercial or HR-focused one, even though both graduates hold the identical title.
The Ausbildungsordnung was modernised from 1 August 2025, so if you’re comparing older material against current requirements, check which version it’s describing. Solid German is non-negotiable here — this is office and administrative work, so written and spoken fluency matters more than in a hands-on trade.
