Common questions about SIELE

How is SIELE scored?

A single scaled score from 0 to 1000, calculated as the sum of four section subscores (each 0–250). Your global score maps to a CEFR band — below 330 = A1, 330–509 = A2, 510–679 = B1, 680–849 = B2, 850–941 = C1, 942 and above = C2. There is no pass/fail — every candidate gets a band.

Does SIELE have a live Speaking examiner?

No. The Speaking section is recorded — you record your responses to five tasks (self-introduction, image description, opinion, situational response, narrative) into your computer microphone. Recordings are then graded remotely against the SIELE oral rubric (fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, coherence, task completion). This is by design and is the biggest delivery difference vs DELE.

How long is the SIELE Global exam?

185 minutes total — 60 min Reading, 55 min Listening, 50 min Writing, 15–20 min Speaking. The four sections run back-to-back in a single sitting. You can also take individual modules (S1 through S5) if you only need to certify specific skills, but the global score requires the full 4-skill exam.

How long is a SIELE certificate valid?

5 years from issue date. This is shorter than DELE (lifetime) — universities and employers usually want a current score, so the 5-year window is by design. If you need a permanent credential, DELE at your target level is the better long-term choice.

What does the real SIELE cost vs your mock?

Official SIELE Global is around €155 (~₹14,500) depending on country and exam centre. Modular versions are cheaper. Our full AI-graded SIELE mock is ₹499 — about 3% of an official attempt — so you can do 10+ practice runs before deciding to book the real test.

SIELE or DELE — which should I take?

Take SIELE if: you need to certify quickly (on-demand), you want a single test across all levels, you're applying to programmes that explicitly accept SIELE (most Spanish universities, increasing Latin American adoption). Take DELE if: you know your exact level target (e.g. B2 for Spain work visa), you want a lifetime credential, or your employer/visa officer specifically asks for DELE by name.
