J.TEST mocks — the practical Japanese test employers trust

The J.TEST (実用日本語検定) measures real, usable Japanese — workplace and daily-life language, not just exam theory. One test spans a grade band (F–G, D–E, or A–C) and your total score sets the grade, and unlike the JLPT it includes a 記述 short-writing task. Our mocks are AI-graded with native Japanese audio and the real total-score banding.

The three grade bands

F–G

Beginner · CEFR A1–A2

Everyday survival Japanese. Roughly JLPT N5–N4 territory — greetings, routines, simple exchanges.

D–EMOST POPULAR

Intermediate · CEFR B1

Practical daily-life and workplace Japanese at natural speed. Around JLPT N3–N2.

A–C

Advanced · CEFR C1

High-level business and academic Japanese. A single test spans A–C; your total score sets the grade — roughly JLPT N2–N1.

What the J.TEST covers

Listening + reading/grammar + a short-writing task, graded on one total score.

聴解試験

Listening — practical dialogues, announcements and workplace situations in native Japanese audio.

読解試験

Reading, grammar, vocabulary and kanji — authentic real-world texts and usage.

記述(作文)

Short writing — a guided composition task. A production skill JLPT doesn't test.

Why sit the J.TEST?

  • Tests practical, workplace Japanese — closer to what employers actually need day-to-day.
  • Held frequently through the year, so you can certify on your schedule.
  • One test covers a whole band; your total score places you — no need to pre-guess your level.
  • Includes a 記述 writing task, giving you a production credential JLPT/NAT-TEST don't offer.
